November was a busy month for the GC Café because we went to Kitakata city on Saturday, November 10th and then, the regular GC Café event at FIA took place during the night on Thursday, November 15th.
For the Global Communication Course in Kitakata city, Toby Birkbeck-Jones did a presentation about his home country, New Zealand. He talked about New Zealand’s famous tourist locations, the Maori people and even explained some unique New Zealand words/slangs. Many people and even the children who attended the lecture were interested in learning about New Zealand’s culture.
Then, the English Communication Course took place later in the afternoon in Kitakata city, and everyone had an enjoyable time talking about this month’s topic on School/Education in English.
It was a similar experience during Thursday’s English Communication Course at the FIA, where it was interesting to compare Japan and other foreign countries’school systems and school life.
I look forward to seeing everyone at the next GC Café in December!
